Also, we have now several scrobbler scripts [1], that do an excellent
job. A patch that gets accepted in cmus would need to have at least all
the features these scripts offer:
- multi-scrobbling (scrobbling to multiple sites, e.g. last.fm and
libre.fm)
- use the lastest scrobbling protocol (2.0), particularly NowPlaying
- good offline caching of scrobbles when the computer is offline

I don't know why scrobbling should be hardcoded into cmus in C, when
it is so easy to write scripts that can do the same job with even better
features...
