<html><head></head><body><div style="font-family: Verdana;font-size: 12.0px;"><div>Hello,</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>I searched everywhere in the documentation, manuals and the web, but I couldn&#39;t find a way to change the sorting of the Library Vew (1) from artist/Album to just Artist. I have Tons of music from Soundtracks, Video Games, Remix Albums and Collaborations, It happens often that each Song in an Album has a different Artist.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>My Question:</div> <div>Is therte a way to sust sort them by Album directly?</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Here is what my Tree looks like and why sorting by album would greatly help it:</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Artist 1</div> <div>&nbsp;-&gt; Album 1</div> <div>&nbsp;---&gt; Song 1, 4, 7</div> <div>&nbsp;-&gt; Album 3</div> <div>&nbsp;---&gt; Song 2</div> <div>Artist 2</div> <div>&nbsp;-&gt; Album 2</div> <div>&nbsp;---&gt;Song 5</div> <div>&nbsp;-&gt;Album 3</div> <div>&nbsp;---&gt;Song 3</div> <div>Artist 3 (which actually is 1 and 2 together but they both worked on that one)</div> <div>&nbsp;-&gt;Album 1</div> <div>&nbsp;---&gt;Song 2</div> <div>.</div> <div>.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>This would be way better:</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div> <div style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; line-height: 19.1875px;">Album 1</div> <div style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; line-height: 19.1875px;">&nbsp;-&gt;song 1, 2, 3, 4 ...</div> <div style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; line-height: 19.1875px;">Album 2</div> <div style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; line-height: 19.1875px;">&nbsp;-&gt;song 1, 2, 3, 4 ...</div> <div style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; line-height: 19.1875px;">Album 3</div> <div style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; line-height: 19.1875px;">&nbsp;-&gt;song 1, 2, 3</div>

<div style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; line-height: 19.1875px;">&nbsp;</div>

<div style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; line-height: 19.1875px;">I know that most people have music that is always 1 Artists for the whole Album, and they probably have multiple Albums of that one Artist, but for my, the number of Artists exceed the number of Albums...</div>

<div style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; line-height: 19.1875px;">&nbsp;</div>

<div style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; line-height: 19.1875px;">It wouldn&#39;t be too bad if it&#39;s not possible to change this, but if there is, please let me know.</div>

<div style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; line-height: 19.1875px;">&nbsp;</div>

<div style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; line-height: 19.1875px;">Best regards,</div>

<div style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; line-height: 19.1875px;">Ben</div>

Is therte a way to sust sort them by Album directly?
Set the albumartist tag or the compilation tag of your files.

The (1) view isn't very flexible.

You may have a better time with the (2) view. It doesn't do
hierarchies, but is more configurable. For example you can:

:set lib_sort=album discnumber tracknumber title filename

The live-filter feature is very nice on the (2) view. Just press L
and start typing.

And don't forget "m" toggles play album, artist or whole library.
